Resolution Number 2017-40
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF ST. CLAIRSVILLE
TO PREPARE AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO
PARTICIPATE IN THE OHIO PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION
(OPWC) STATE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT AND/OR
LOCAL TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM(S) AND TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS AS
REQUIRED AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the State Capital Improvement Program and the Local Transportation Improvement Program both provide financial alliance to political subdivisions for capital improvement to public infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, the City of St. Clairsville is planning to make capital improvement to the New Reservoir Improvement Project; and
WHEREAS, the infrastructure improvement herein above described is considered to be a priority need for the community and is a qualified project under the OPWC Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ST. CLAIRSVILLE:
Section 1: The Mayor of the City of St. Clairsville is hereby to apply to the OPWC for funds as described above.
Section 2: The Mayor of the City of St. Clairsville is further authorized to enter into any agreements as may be necessary and appropriate for obtaining this financial assistance.
Section 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety for the City of St. Clairsville and its inhabitants.
Section 4: This resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by the Charter of the City of St. Clairsville, Ohio.
