RESOLUTION HIRING KENDAL WEISEND

AS SUPERINTENDENT OF THE WATER AND

WASTEWATER DEPARTMENTS

AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the City of St. Clairsville is required by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to employ a licensed water operator, and a licensed wastewater operator, or a technical supervisor to oversee the water plant and wastewater plant operations at all times, to test and treat the water and to make certain reports to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency; and

WHEREAS, Kendal Weisend is a qualified and licensed water/wastewater plant operator and is willing to be employed by the City of St. Clairsville, Ohio, as the Superintendent of the Water and Wastewater Departments of the City of Clairsville, Ohio, and to perform the duties and reporting required by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. Weisend currently possesses Class I Wastewater and Class III Water licenses.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of St. Clairsville, Ohio:

Section 1: That Kendal Weisend be employed as the Superintendent of the Water and Wastewater Departments for the City of St. Clairsville as required by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

Section 2: That Kendal Weisend be compensated a salary at the rate of $62,500.00 per year.

Section 3: That he will ensure all testing, treatment and reporting be completed in accordance with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency regulations and perform all other duties as the Superintendent overseeing the Water and Wastewater Departments of the City of St. Clairsville, Ohio.

Section 4: That he will ensure that all records be properly kept and that the Consumer Confidence Reports be completed.

Section 5: That Kendal Weisend will maintain the proper license and qualification necessary to complete the above specified duties as required by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

Section 6: That this Resolution is hereby passed as an emergency measure necessary for the benefit of the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of the City of St. Clairsville and will take effect at the time allowed by law.

PASSED at a meeting of the Council of the City of St. Clairsville on this 29th day of November, 2017, by the affirmative vote of 6 members of the council.
