A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY
OF ST. CLAIRSVILLE TO ENTER INTO AN ANNEXATION
AGREEMENT WITH THE RICHLAND TOWNSHIP
TRUSTEES TO ANNEX 1.247 ACRES INTO THE CITY OF
ST. CLAIRSVILLE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the City of St. Clairsville, Ohio is desirous of annexing a 1.247 acres of real estate into its corporation limits as described in Exhibit A attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Ohio Revised Code §709.192 the City must first enter into an Annexation Agreement with the Richland Township Board of Trustees approving such annexation.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Council of the City of St. Clairsville that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an Annexation Agreement with the Richland Township Board of Trustees pursuant to Ohio Revised Code §709.192 to complete the annexation of the said 1.247 acre tract.
Section 1: That the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Annexation Agreement with Richland Township Trustees to annex 1.247 acres into the City of St. Clairsville.
Section 2: That this Resolution is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and such that Council for the City of St. Clairsville to enter into an Annexation Agreement with Richland Township to annex 1.247 acres into said City.
Section 3: This Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by the Charter of the City of St. Clairsville, Ohio.
PASSED at a meeting of the council of the City of St. Clairsville on this 5th day of February, 2018, by the affirmative vote 7 members of council.
