Ordinance Number 2018-22
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC
SERVICES TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS AND ACCEPT BIDS
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW 500,000 GALLON
WATER TANK LOCATED OFF OF DOROTHY PLACE
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the City of St. Clairsville is in need of a new water tank; and
WHEREAS, Council for the City of St. Clairsville desires to authorize the Director of Public Services to begin advertising for bids so that bids can be accepted for projects and construction contracts for any combination of or all 3 of the following:
- Construction of Tank
- Site development including piping, generator, final grading, etc.
- Demolition of existing steel girder tank located directly being City Hall
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OHIO:
Section 1: That the Director of Public Services is authorized and directed to advertise for bids and accept the bids for three (3) projects listed above.
Section 3: That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public such that Council for the City of St. Clairsville desires to construct a new 500,000 gallon water tank off of Dorothy Place.
Section 4: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by the Charter of the City of St. Clairsville, Ohio.
PASSED at a meeting of the council of the City of St. Clairsville on this 6th day of August, 2018, by the affirmative vote 6 members of council.
