ORDINANCE NUMBER 2019 – 04
AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE
CITY OF ST. CLAIRSVILLE BUILDING DEPARTMENT
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the Citizens of the City of St. Clairsville require the establishment of local enforcement of the building codes; and
WHEREAS, the State of Ohio requires the establishment of a building department prior to the exercise of enforcement authority;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OHIO:
Section 1: The City of St. Clairsville Building Department is hereby established.
Section 2: Said department shall have full authority to enforce all laws, statutes and regulations as provided and authorized in the Ohio Revised Code and the Ohio Administrative Code pursuant to the Certification approved by the Ohio Board of Building Standards.
Section 3: That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and economic well being of the City of St. Clairsville in order to establish a Building Department for the City of St. Clairsville.
Section 4: That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after the earliest period allowed by the Charter of the City of St. Clairsville, Ohio.
