SUBJECT:       2019 ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION

The City of St. Clairsville is pleased to extend to the community an invitation to its 2019 Arbor Day Celebration.  The event will be held on Friday, May 17, at 11 A. M. in the Central Park complex (102 Fair Avenue, St. Clairsville).  Mayor Terry Pugh will issue an official proclamation to establish May 17 as Arbor Day, in recognition of the importance of trees and to promote efforts to protect them.

The guest speaker will be Lola Lewis, Regional Urban Forester, with the Division of Forestry, Ohio Department of Natural Resources.  Ms. Lewis will be joined by City officials, community leaders, and interested citizens.

The City of St. Clairsville once again has been awarded Tree City USA designation by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management.  The Arbor Day Foundation is a nonprofit conservation and education organization with a mission to inspire people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees.
