CITY OF ST. CLAIRSVILLE ISSUES WATER USE REDUCTION REQUEST

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OH – The City of St. Clairsville is asking that customers of the municipal water system voluntarily reduce water consumption. Rainfall over the past several months has failed to keep up with the demand at the City’s main reservoir where water levels have dropped significantly.

The City is asking their 2,400 area customers to take the following steps to reduce consumption:

  • Only wash full loads when cleaning laundry or running the dishwasher;
  • Shorten showers;
  • Postpone car washing or watering lawns and landscaping; and
  • Do not leave tap water running.  Use only as needed.

Complete recovery at both the main and secondary reservoirs will take several inches of slow, steady rain, but any precipitation will help.  This request will remain in effect until both reservoirs reach normal pool level or until further notice.

The City thanks residents in advance for their patience and efforts to conserve water which will help avoid additional requests.
