RESOLUTION NUMBER 2020-2
A RESOLUTION CREATING THE POSITION OF CHIEF OF STAFF/ DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Be it ordained by the Council of the City of St. Clairsville, Ohio:
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article III and Article V, of the Charter of the City of St. Clairsville, Ohio, City Council is responsible for the creation of new positions within the City and setting the compensation of each position within the City; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended the creation of the new position of Chief of Staff/Director of Development; and
WHEREAS, Council for the City of St. Clairsville desires to create the position of Chief of Staff/Director of Development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OHIO:
Section 1: The position of Chief of Staff/Director of Development is hereby created. The position of Chief of Staff/Director of Development shall be in the unclassified service of the City and serve at the pleasure of the Mayor, and that said position shall serve a six (6) month instructional period.
Section 2: The salary of the Chief of Staff/Director of Development shall be $48,500.00 per year during the instructional period, and shall be paid on a biweekly basis. Salary shall be increased to $53,500.00 per year upon successful completion of the instructional period, and shall be paid on a biweekly basis.
Section 3: The individual appointed to the position of Chief of Staff/Director of Development will receive such leaves and benefits in accordance with applicable City Policies, Resolutions, and Ordinances as may be amended from time to time.
Section 4: That this Resolution is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and the safety of the residents of the City of St. Clairsville.
