Trick or Treat in the City to be held on Oct. 31

Posted on October 6th, 2020 by

Mayor Thalman and a majority of the City Council have agreed to hold Trick or Treat on October 31, 2020, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.  The Mayor urges residents celebrating Halloween to exercise caution, such as not using candy bowls from which children could take candy for themselves or others.  In addition, she asks residents and children to wear masks and try to keep socially distanced inside and outside.  If a household does not wish to participate, Mayor Thalman suggests that residents turn off their porch light.

Reflecting an earlier press release from Governor Mike DeWine, the Mayor adds that large groups should be avoided and urges people to stay home if they are sick.  Although the decision to celebrate this holiday is being left to local communities, the state has developed further guidance for Halloween to help communities and families plan for the holiday.  Please follow this link to review this timely information:  https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/static/responsible/celebrating-halloween.pdf
