RESOLUTION NUMBER 2021-6
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FISCAL OFFICER TO OPT-IN TO A UAN
FEATURE AS RECOMMENDED BY THE AUDITOR OF STATE OF OHIO AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the City of St. Clairsville, Ohio, subscribes to the Uniform Accounting Network (or “UAN”). “a user-friendly financial software package created by the Auditor of State’s office to support the accounting, payroll and financial management activities of local governments in Ohio;” and,
WHEREAS the Auditor of State “strongly recommends,” as detailed in an electronic mail message dated January 21, 2021, a copy of which is attached hereto, that Council pass a resolution authorizing the Fiscal Officer to opt-in to a UAN feature that will generate direct email communication to the Mayor and members of Council in the event that the Fiscal Officer does not post a bank reconciliation in UAN in approximately 60 days.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OHIO:
SECTION 1: That the Fiscal Officer shall opt-in to the UAN feature that will generate direct email communication to the Mayor and members of Council in the event that the Fiscal Officer does not post a bank reconciliation in UAN in approximately 60 days.
SECTION 2: That this Resolution is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of the City of St. Clairsville.
SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by the Charter of the City of St. Clairsville, Ohio.
PASSED at a meeting of the Council of the City of St. Clairsville on this 15th day of March, 2021, by the affirmative vote of 7 members of the council.
