RE:                Limited 24-Hour Boil Order

DATE:           May 19, 2021

EFFECTIVE:  IMMEDIATE

_________________________________________________

Once water service is restored, a 24-Hour Limited Boil Order will be in effect for City of St. Clairsville businesses and residents in the vicinity of Courthouse Square.  Specifically, the businesses and residences South of Main Street from 142 West Main to 116 East Main (and in the area to Woodrow Avenue) may already have lost water service.

Starting at 4:30 P. M., all offices and residents North of Main Street from 145 West Main to 119 East Main (and in the area to Newell Avenue) will lose water service as well.

City crews are repairing a break which is compounded by another service line in the immediate area of the break.  The expectation is that water service may be restored before 9 P. M. this evening.

The 24-Hour Boil Order is needed for anyone losing water service completely at any hour this afternoon through this evening.  The Municipal Utilities staff are making every attempt to phone effected customers.  Please exercise patience and caution as the City crews work to restore water service as soon as possible.

Businesses and residents may experience discoloration due to the water line break and repair.  Any other utility customer who may experience water loss today in this vicinity also should comply with the boil order.

If questions, please call the Municipal Utilities Office on 740-695-1410, After 4:30 today, the answering service will handle calls.  Thank you.
