FROM:       City Council President Jim Velas

RE:             St. Clairsville City Council meeting time changes

DATE:        April 5, 2022

RELEASE:  IMMEDIATE

______________________________________________

Effective at the April 18, 2022 City Council meeting, regular City Council meetings will begin at 7:00 P. M. instead of 7:30 P. M.  These meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month unless the date falls on a federal holiday.  The St. Clairsville City Council recently voted unanimously to pass legislation (Resolution Number 2022-7) to change the meeting time; the text of Resolution Number 2022-7 is posted on the City website (www.stclairsville.com).

Because of the time change in the regular City Council meetings, a change in the start time of two City Council committee meetings is needed.  The Utility Committee meets before the regular City Council meeting on the first Monday of the month.  Beginning on May 2, the Utility Committee meeting will start at 6:30 P. M.  The Finance Committee meets on the third Monday of each month prior to the regular City Council meeting.  Effective on April 18, the new Finance Committee meeting time will be 6:15 P. M.

The Police Committee typically meets immediately following the Council meeting on the third Monday of each month.

If a federal holiday falls on a date when the City Council or a committee meeting is scheduled, the meeting usually is held on the following day at the scheduled time.

Located in the Council Room of the Municipal Building (100 North Market Street, St. Clairsville), these meetings are open to the public.  If questions, please contact the Council Clerk, Jacob DeBertrand, on 740-695-1324 or by email (jacob.debertrand@gmail.com).
